Voicemail TransferOne Program
Information Technology Services is offering a feature to the campus community that will allow your outgoing voicemail message to reference the number ONE to transfer a caller to a main line rather than listing a number and instructing them to hang-up and call that particular number. A few offices are currently utilizing this feature but the majority of the campus community was unaware of this option. This does not impact the call forwarding setup that many offices already have established.
Example message:
"You have reached Mike Timko in Administrative computing, I am currently unavailable, please leave a message. If you need immediate assistance, please press 1 to be transferred to the helpdesk."
This then prevents the caller from redialing to reach an alternate number.
In addition all recorded messages can include the reference to press ZERO to be transferred to the switchboard or the auto-attendant when the switchboard is unable to answer the call. This feature is currently available to all employees and requires no additional setup.
If you are interested in adding the TransferOne feature to your voicemail, simply send an email to helpdesk@washjeff.edu with the following:
In the subject: Voicemail TransferOne program
In the body: Your name, extension, transfer to
Name and extension of transfer recipient
Example:

You will receive an email when the setup is complete. At that point you may record any of your voicemail messages to include the reference to "Press one to reach_________."
