To request an iPad for short term checkout, please complete the iPad checkout form located here: Faculty/Staff iPad Checkout Form.

Details:

W&J's ITS Department currently has two iPad 3s available to checkout on a short-term basis (two weeks or less) to full-time W&J faculty and staff. Each iPad is 16GB and offers wi-fi wifi and Verizon cellular data service. Each iPad comes with the standard Apple loadout of apps.  If you would like to purchase and install additional apps, you may do so on the iPad at your own cost (Please note, this requires you to setup an Apple ID account).

For more information on apps that are available for the iPad on the Apple App Store, please see here: Apple iPad Apps

If you would like specific recommendations for Apps for an app for a specific purpose, please ask Mike Camden.

Each iPad is equipped with a Verizon cellular data modem; however, paid cellular data service is not provided by ITS.  If an employee would like cellular data service on the iPad, s/he must purchase it the service through Verizon and activate it individually. This guide walks you through how to purchase and activate Verizon cellular data for the iPad: Verizon: How to set up a new Cellular Data account on iPad

The When a wifi connection is available, the iPad can still access the Internet when a wi-fi connection is available without purchasing a cellular data plan.

By default, the iPad will come with an Apple iPad Smart Case.  Faculty and Staff members may also check-out a Logitech bluetooth keyboard cover with the Apple iPad.  Please see here for more information: Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover.

When the iPad has been returned to ITS, all data will be immediately wiped from the iPad and unrecoverable. If you would like to retain any of the data that you store on the iPad, you will need to sync the iPad to your computer and backup the data prior to returning it to ITS. This Apple article provides instructions for backing up the data on the iPad: iOS: How to Backup
