Greetings W&J Parents,

Thank you for choosing We are so happy that your student is attending W&J for your student. We are very proud of the caliber of our graduates and hear positive feedback from employers regularly about how prepared W&J students are for the workforce. Those who avail themselves to the resources of Career Services will quickly learn how we partner with the Faculty and the Alumni of the College in supporting students’ pursuits.  On a campus this size, students will be able to have direct access to faculty (not just graduate assistants), interact with successful alumni of the College and be supported by our department and others. Students are urged to come see us “early and often” and not wait until their last semester to meet us.  We strive to get to know the students and work with them on developing their particular strategies for securing opportunities (whether employment, internship, or graduate & professional school). While we are here for them and happy to help, it is imperative that students actively engage in the career planning process. It is never too early to begin. 

We are pleased to be a College Central Network (CCN) campus, an online system which allows students and alumni to access full-time, internship, part-time, shadowing, and summer opportunities. Students and alumni are able to connect with employers, and post resumes and cover letters. There are typically over 500,000 national postings and numerous postings specific to W&J. New jobs are added daily. The W&J CCN also features over 180 220 W&J mentors, including trustees of the College, to help guide students on in their career exploration. Many amazing connections have been fostered through this network.


We are also pleased to report the results of our most recent survey for the Class of 20132014. The survey showed that 94% 91% of the graduates were either employed or furthering their education.  An additional encouraging indicator was the number of employers that recruited on our campus this fall. When benchmarked with several of our peer institutions, we had a very successful fall year with 41 37 companies/organizations actually on-campus — an excellent showing for a campus our size in these times. Our most recent job fair, sponsored with WestPACS, had over 138 registered employers. While no industry is "recession proof," our research suggests that there will be opportunities in health care, accounting, federal government, technology, energy industry, and human services.
