You are invited to an event that won’t happen again for about seven years (when I take my next sabbatical). Come enjoy an afternoon of music featuring some of my talented friends. W&J faculty member Katy Williams, soprano, and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra clarinetist Thomas Thompson will join me in performing Schubert’s “The Shepherd on the Rock.” W&J faculty member Matthew Murchison and I will perform his own composition, “Moonfall” for euphonium and piano. I will share the stage with Canton Symphony Orchestra flutist Julie Sarver for Widor’s Suite for Flute and Piano, and with Malone University Professor Emerita (and my first piano teacher) Sandra Carnes for Faure’s “Dolly Suite” for piano duet. I’ll also play a couple of solo pieces, Bach Prelude and Fugue and Debussy’s “L’Isle joyeuse.”
(The concert will last less than 90 minutes, and the Steelers don’t play until 8:30 Sunday night!)
